Did it do it with the standard air filter?

You say that you have adjusted the tick over screw but it didn't do anything? maybe you have an air leak. First job would be the air filter. Letting the engine suck in more air means that you have to give it more fuel otherwise it will run lean and possibly seize up or melt a hole in the piston.

hi yea it did do it with the the standard air filter, and when i did mess with the tick over, it did change my idle revs but even when the bike was temp was 60-70 and ticking over at 3000rpm (that was just see if it would cut out ticking over at high revs, hav put it right since) it still ticks over for a while but then will just cut out useless i keep pumpin the throttle now and then ...

Start simple and try and diagnose the problem with the least effort. If its not the idling switch it could be the bite on your clutch being too loose, try tightening it at the top of the lver, then at the bottomin the clutch case ( use the special tool to do this ).
If its not your clutch it could be something to do with the fct you have aftermarkety equipmnt but you havnt increased the size of your carburettor ( check your aftr market stuff and see what mods you have to make and if their all compatible with each other ). If you still cant find it take it too a garage and get it proffesionaly checked
Hope this helps Wink Surprised

hi,
you say you have messed around with the idle adjust screw. (the one with the black plastic knob?)
but did you do it when the bike was up to temp?
as this is when it should be done.
get the bike nice & hot.
then turn idle adjuster all the way in & slowly turn out till you get it around 2000rpm.
once yor at 2k, then the slightest movement should get you down to the normal 1200rpm idle speed.
just a thought, but has anyone been meessing with the carb?
return the air/mixture screw to standard settings first & then start again.
most likely carb related.
though tightening the clutch up, wont harm it.
(btw, you dont need the special tool, just one of those 1/4 socket set from poundland, molegrips & screwdriver)
cheers,
GAZ
