Im looking to get a new bike as soon as possible, looking at sports bikes and must be 600cc+. Budget is around 2-2.5k but I may be able to stretch a small amount if I think its worth it.

I do really like the look of GSXR K1's but looking about they all seem to be 2800 or around 3k. All of these were average/high mileage. I just think this is a bit mad due to the fact a friend of mine has just picked up a 53plate CBR6RR with a load of extras + Standard bits for 3k Confused

SO what would you lot reccomend for around that budget?

I would have any of the main 3 jap 600's (Zxr 636 B1H, Gsxr K1 onwards, R6 any model) as I do like them all tbh, not bothered about which has the best preformance etc as im not gonna ride the bike to its limits anyway Very Happy

Ive been checking the usual places like ebay, visordown and bike trader now and then but nothing seems to be coming up in my price range or that is worth 2k+

Triumph Daytona 600. Thumbs Up

2004s usually go for around £2500 from private sellers or dealers.

Not too fond of the tt its just the looks that put me off a bit, love the speed fours however Smile

Had a look at daytona's and they are quite nice, will keep an eye out.

Anyone know any good forums for the gsxr, xzr b1h and the R6?

Im already on gixerjunkies but there dosent seem to be many bikes for sale on there only parts etc.

the other two are all yank forums Sad

If you could get a Daytona 650 instead of the 600, then i think you'd have one of the best all round 600's that exists. Id say a 650 is better than any Pre RR CBR and as good as any of the ZX636's too!

Some one I know just sold a 2000 R6 with 13k miles on it for £2500 , You might be able to find the same condition bike with a bit of searching.

Not sure then, A guy came from the netherlands to get it because the euro and pound was so close together, it cost him 2.8k euros to buy it and he could sell it for 5k euros when he get's back to the netherlands :S.

The only problem with the R6 was the insurance as my mate was 18 years old it cost £964

Prices seem to be on the high side. I'll be selling my B1H at some point in the next few months and was looking at selling under 3k. Maybe I should be asking a bit more. Laughing

Definatly Smile I dont mind traveling for the right bike at the right price!

Has it been crashed/repaired?
If so is it HPI clear etc?
Whats the mileage?
Any service history?
How many owners?
Does it come with the standard bits also?
Another minor thing, how much would you be looking for? Laughing
