car , trailer and windsurfing gear.... ?

Right ive got my car test soon and i want a mini , not only are they the coolest car ever , at 21 years of age they are cheap on insurance 800quid fully comp i cant complain at that.

Now is there a legal limit for the size of a car trailer?
My windsurf board is just short of 4m so would i be able to just bodge up a frame stick some wheels on and slap my board on it?

And if so what would a mini be like for pulling it lol!?

surely a roof rack would be better for wind surfer gear than a trailer

yeah, i think it will work a lot better than a trailer, just have a little flag tail tied to the bits that stick out either end

Aren't there complicated rules about what you can actually tow without taking a trailer test? (Only applies to newer drivers Rolling Eyes)

Pha! People are pathetic nowadays - check out this picture I found (was similar to one in the manual for the mirror I used to have).

We've carried ladders on top of our mini without an issues, also recently I put a front end of a mini on top of the mini and drove it around 50 miles back Very Happy

I'm not sure thats going to persuade him that its perfectly reasonable to carry large items on a mini.

You were doing ok with mentioning the ladders, but the bit about a front end of a mini on the top just sounds crazy ! Smile

i have a 16 foot 4 inch sea kayak that has been happily on top of my mates mini when my car broke down along with his kayak too. Smile

Depends on whether the trailer exceeds 750kg.

From the DVLA website.

Class B licence.

Motor vehicles with a MAM not exceeding 3500kg having not more than 8 passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg. Combinations of towing vehicles in category B and a trailer, where the MAM of the combination does not exceed 3500kg and the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle.


If your towing with a mini you wouldn`t want to exceed that weight anyway!
