Hi All!
OK so I am thinking of getting my first set of leathers and have a couple of questions I was hoping you could all help me with!

1) I am going from Preston to just north of London tomorrow - is there anywhere not too far offroute that I could go to that has a huge choice to look at, or in anywhere in the North West?

2) My other option is to wait until something like the BMF in Peterborough next month - are these shows actually any/much cheaper than just buying from a shop in your experience?

3) If we take it as read that I am short and fat (sorry is that not slim if todays PC world?)say (Smile) are there any brands of leathers that are more likely to fit?

Cheers
Nick

1) Don't know, sorry.

2) Sometimes they acn be yes as long as you haggle and/or go on the last day of the show.

3) Not really. Most stuff's designed to fit the average body shape. If you are particularly short and/or fat you'll need to buy a suit in roughly the right size and pay for it to be altered by someone like Hideout Leather.

The best thing about BMF is you can try on a wide range of makes in close proximity - plus prices are likely a bit lower.
You can get real bargains in 'last years style' or whatever.
Since it's not long till the event, may as well have a look there if you can wait.

I think the prices at shows are all good. But I dont think its the right atmosphere to be trying suits on. Both suits i've bought I spent a good 2 hours in the shop trying on. At a show its a bit rushed but maybe thats fussy?
Alterations shouldnt be much. A friend had a suit altered locally 30 quid for legs pulled in a bit and shortened.
