What 125 Supermoto do you reccomend I get?
I wanna get one now I've been on my mates.
What do you reckon?
I've been looking at the Yamaha DT and Aprilia MX.

Why would you get one over, say, a 400cc supermoto, seeing that you've got your bike test booked for a few days time, apparently? Confused

Because I'm gonna get a 400 sports bike (hopefully) and I've wanted to have a 2 stroke 125 Supermoto for ages.

If it's for a 'second bike', I'd go for a KTM125 EXC. But that's a very different bike to the ones you list.

I'd personally suggest you keep your options are a bit more open now that they are.

Yeah it's for a second bike because a 2 stroke Supermoto would be something different.
Not really looked at the KTM but I like the looks of the Aprilia, I know their not that reliable, but I look after my bikes alot.

Where do you 'know' that from? Should be perfectly reliable if looked after properly.
While I do like the idea, I still wouldn't choose one.

However, I do seem to remember that you have posted many previous such 'what bike' threads, so not so convinced it's what you'll end up with anyway Smile.

Yeah but the Aprilia MX is probably my favourite Supermoto out of the ones i've looked at.

see here..

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=38929&highlight=

DT = slower but more reliable, cheaper to run/fix/rebuild
RX = quicker, more servicing/rebuilds, parts expensive/extortionate/less common to find at reasonable prices..

if you get an RX expect to spend more time rebuilding/waiting for parts than riding it (not so bad if its a weekend toy)..

If you go down the DT route then your choices are a DT125X or DT125R conversion which imo is better, looks wise for a start (the older ones were quicker too since alot of the newer engine was tuned for reliablilty) and the ones with the YPVS pegged are more fun to ride when hooning it Mr. Green Thumbs Up Another thing about the DT's if you get one is wait and find an original unmolested then mod it yourself..

EDIT... for the money you might aswell get a 4t.. DRZ400,CCM404 (better than the DRZ)... after riding a 400 sports all the time anything 125 is gonna feel like riding a 50..
