Ok so me and the misses moved out our flat last year and the mail gets held in the p.o.cos were moving about a lot.

Stuff was going missing last year having complained we were told it was a temp and there was not much they could do.

ibumped into a temp manager round the corner at the burger bar who said he'd sort it out.He did for a while.

Now i had words with the guy at the counter a few times cos he,s a a cheeky cvnt but one time i went in he left immediately and comes back with the manager. The manager says what's your problem (no words had been spoken)he claims he doesn't need to hold my mail?

I was calm but we're talking about pay checks credit card statements here none of which turned up.

So all was fine for a while but the last three months i've had nothing,my misses gets hers fine.My credit card is now not working
i've no statements and the manager was busy as usual.I speak to the assistant manager who fobs me off with:
Could be wrong address(four different company's)?
Could be sent to wrong address(it should not leave the p.o.
It could be sent back to sender(think me boss would tell me)
So i lost the fucking rag and explained it's a crime to mess with the post and i'm going to the fucking police.

Suffice to say the police were less than helpful so i told her to go fuck herself (go speak to them indeed)
pfft what can i do who can i contact ?have i truly fucked up
oh i did leave the po my number(regrettably)

Is it not possible to get a mail box for your mail to be sent to? I know you'll have to pay, but losing your mail could get expensive if it's getting into the wrong hands.

I just took a google about and there is an ombudsman for your complaint but it states that you have to have made an official complaint through the PO's own complaints procedure so I looked it up for you.

Postwatch

Make sure you deal with them politely however frustrated you are. Write and keep to as many facts as you can - ie. which payslips are missing with approximate dates, which card statements with approximate dates etc. Make sure you also keep copies of all correspondence. Also I would suggest that you speak with your Bank and CC company and explain you are having problems and see if they can suggest anything ie. do you have a close relative who would let you have post directed to them for the short term - just an idea, I know it's not right or practical, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to look after yourself and your interests.

Explain it to them and it should be fine.

What about getting them to send it to say your parents address, and you pick up from there.

If your cards not working talk to the card provider.... Could be that you card has expired and you have not recived the new one.

Have a word with them about not sending statements and you accesing your accounts via the net and online banking.

The PO have a dept that deals with stuff like this. Raise it above the local PO as odds on its a member of staff thats doing it.
Get onto the PO website and have a look round.

Police should also deal with this matter. You just need to get passed the non police on the counter.
If you local force have a website report via that, or fax them the details.....
If its in writing they have no option but to deal as its then a reported crime. Thumbs Up

I dont think they have to hold your mail and that your suppose to get it redirected thats why they are not helpful. Can you have it redirected to a mates someone close to you that you trust more than strangers at the post office? its about £12 a year I think to do that.

My post goes missing all the time, even if i send things recorded! Shocked and I dont get things till about 3 weeks after posting now. I have to resend stuff all the time or record it and keep proof. Last proof I lost and I paid £4 for garenteed next day delivery and my luck they didnt get it and that was 2 weeks ago Confused Think postal service has it in for me.

Ok thanks for the reply's,I am trying to set up internet banking.

Also to redirect my mail would be a waste of time, let's face it they can't put it through my door or hold it at the post office.

The police are clearly not interested.

Thank's for that Tonka i'll look into it. Thumbs Up

I know that if i had a landline this would be sorted by now..Also worth noting the manager has not phoned me Evil or Very Mad

There are a few services you can pay to have which would help;

Keep-Safe: The postman will keep your mail to one side, on his desk, until the keep-safe has expired and then it'll get delivered to your selected address.

Re-Direction: Your post will be sent to another address, sent as first class mail, so should arrive the day after.

Call and Collect: Your post is handed to the Callers Office (where you go to collect larger items), you're given a card. Show them the card, get your post. (I think I've throw in the correct link there)

I don't know anything about P.O. Boxes. Never had anything to do with them. If your post is 'going missing', I'll bet it's just being delivered to the address on it, and whoever's receiving it is just returning it to sender...

Check the Royal Mail website for details on each other the services above.
