Found an ad in local paper for a '99 nsr125r. Price is £1300 o.n.o and it's also the black and silver colour scheme.
Thinking of tryin to knock 1 or £200 off the price and guna go see it 2nite. Any advice on what to look for on nsr's? common faults, problems etc? ty
Tom

That's a bloody good price for a '99 reg. Mine was J reg and I paid £800. I doubt you'll get the price down much but best of luck. Silver and black aswell...me, jealous?? Well, maybe a little!

It's always good to take someone with you who knows what to look for Smile

Went to see it, and took a canadian mechanic with me hehe Very Happy Told me he would offer 1000 for it due to clutch needing adjusting, and also few nics, like been dropped on exhaust side, but all in all a nice bike. Also a Jap import, so isn't that small. the guy accepted 1000 pickin it up on saturday!!!!
Tom. (also on paint it isnt like the usual black silver, but i think it looks nicer.)

What about the insurance? aren't imports a lot more to insure then normal models?

Still, good price for such a relatively new model.

I've got a TZR250 jap import and the insurance has never been expensive (mind you I am old!) - the only thing I'd say with imports is that it's worth researching what the differences are to the UK model in case you need spares.
