I appreciate your concern regarding this matter, and - yes, its entirely possible that IN THE FUTURE - the NHS would have a completely integrated computer system which did exactly that, held ALL information accessible to all staff at any time. Actually it would be damn useful, and save a lot of costs in wasted staff time, if nothing else, least of all the doctors, nurses and the secretaries.

But at present?

Anyway, if nothing else, IT audit trails are now much sharper than they used to be, so when a staff member or beaurocrat accesses any person's files, then it is already quite clear who has accessed the records, and when.

In the future your entire medical history will be on your id card along with every other piece of information about your person-for now there working towards the databases that will be open to all government workers and sold to private company's..when the time is right everything will be merged with the id card at which point an unsuspecting public will have agreed that there flesh and blood IS the person,there for handing ownership of there body over to the government and accepting title of use...watch

Well while some of us will have enjoyed a long time on our machines others will have spent a long time on a forum that is based on something that they have no interest in, printing waffle that no one else has any interest in.

One would have enjoyed the relative freedoms while they exist, the other would be still too hung up in fantasy to actually get out there and be a part of life.
