Wireless Cameras

Well, seeing as it looks like someone's lining up to steal my bike, (forced the bolt off the shed door, but then didn't take anything - doesn't look like they even tried to take anything) I'm looking for a wireless camera I can use as a security camera. I've had a bit of a poke around, but the main thing I'm concerned about is low light performance, which seems to either be not mentioned, or a bit crap on the various reviews I've read so far.

Anyone with any experience/recommendations?

You can add a IR light to allow most security cameras to see as well in the dark as they can in daylight.

I have a Linksys WVC200 which can connect wired or wireless to your network, has pan/tilt and zoom (although only 2x digital).

It lets you view from any where you have an internet connection and will do motion detection and can be set to email you (can include a short clip) if its triggered.

Strangely enough I bought one recently, going to be replacing it with a wired system in the near future. Paid £100 for a weatherproof camera that handles colour daytime and infra red for night recording plus dual output USB/AV receiver. It might as well be wired, granted the 2.4GH range is quite busy here but even so, the receiver has to be positioned a foot or so from the camera to keep a signal steady enough for the motion detection to work properly. Still. I know who was causing the damage now.

Not overly impressed all in all.

The WVC200 isn't an outdoor camera btw. I have it on a windowsill.

Put a metal handle on the shed door and attach it to a truck battery. It will send enough voltage through them to light them up like a security light.

Pitch fork on fishing line from roof. Wire it so that when door opens and it is pulled back, then line breaks and it swings forward.....

Just remember before you open the door.... To them in the night, nice shock to be impaled...

Oh sorry officer it must have dropped down, due to them forcing the door open.... Was secured to the roof...Never happened to me.... Laughing
