 |

Quite a long shot on a biker forum, so I don't really expect any replies.
If there are any players, help appreciated.
Anyway, i'm after a new putter, and narrowed it down to two.
Ping i-Series Craz-E Putter
or
Ping Karsten Craz-E Putter
The main difference being one has the insert on the face, the other has a solid face.
From what I read, the insert helps with short putts, but its hard to control distance on longer putts compared to the solid face Karsten.
Anyone have any recommendations out of the two (or out of insert or non insert) ?
Cheers.
ps, if you don't play golf, or dislike it, then I don't need to know about it

Tiger Woods 09 is the closest I get, sorry. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Whats wrong with your old old one, is a new putter REALLY going to improve your game.
I still play with my bargain basement Dunlop clubs, get a few looks from the posh brigade but they soon shut up when they realise they are no better than me with £3k's worth of hitting sticks.
IMO the money would be better spent on 30 minutes tuition
Just my two penneth ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

I think a 'mallet' style will improve it quite a lot.
My old putter, (only putter) ive had for 17 years :o its a miramar brand or something. I probably paid £5 for it when I started playing second hand.
I see what you are saying, that an expensive putter isn't going to make you sink 20ft putts every time, but think I need a change.
As for the 3k of equipment, isn't it great seeing people with all the gear, who can't hit a thing. I was on the driving range last week, and some dude all dressed up, was hitting his woods shorter than my 7 iron |

yes, the driving range is really funny, took a mate their last week, first time he has swung a club, within 10 minutes he was hitting balls with a seven iron as far as a guy next to us using a Callaway driver
perhaps after 17 years you are due a new putter, personally I still would not spend that much but if thats what you want I would go for the..https://www.clubhousegolf.co.uk/acatalog/1Ping_Craz-e_Karsten_Putter.html ____________________ https://domharnessphotography.webs.com |

I had a little dabble with both of those down the local pro-shop when i was looking for a new putter.
In my opinion the Karsten felt a lot more natural and was weighted alot better for a smoother stroke.
Although I love Ping stuff (my whole bag is Ping), I've got to say that if your intent on a mallet then the Odyssey 2-ball is a better buy. May be a bit more expensive but sure you can find it nearer to £100 quick if you have a search.

Hmm just need to get something that feels right, Go to american golf and test a few out. Clubs defo make a difference, whether it be subconsciously or consciously - if you buy a good club you are going to see an improvement!
I use shitty dunlop clubs because i only go down the driving range, but when i use my mates "big bertha" man o man i hit it schweet
Im not good at short range but i can hit a good 270-300 yards say 1 in 3 with my mates big bertha but with my shitty dunlop im lucky to get 220. But i dont know whether thats because its the club or me thinking ive got a POWER club...in short terms i want a big bertha ____________________ And on the 7th day the lord said..lets get pissed |
