PostPosted: 18:53 - 12 Apr 2009    Post subject: Enduroland Questions Reply with quote

I am considering visiting one of these Enduroland events next month ... but have a few questions:

1) Do they take into account the novice rider such as myself (ie: never ridden an enduro track before) ?

2) Whats the score with noise restrictions ... my bike has passed its mot but still sounds pretty noisy to me ?

3) Are there general practice areas / different tracks ... or is it one big track ?

4) specifically, what is Adstone track like ? ... Is it very technical or novice friendly ?

5) Any other bits of advice ?

Thanks in advance G Smile

Hey Silky

1) If you have ridden off road before then you will be fine. There are technical sections like tyre hops/bridges, but there is always a novice opt out section to one side, which is well signed. You can always go through the tape if you are not comfortable - or speak to the marshalls beforehand

2) Is it a standard exhaust/system? If so it should be fine. Maybe invest in some baffles if you can - or if you are local, pop up to the venue the day before and ask. The events are noise sensitive due to local residents in the area.

3) One big track approx 5 miles in length over a variety of terrain. You could ride around the car park area (field) to get a feel for things beforehand.

4) I went to the Grand re-opening end of last month and really enjoyed it! I'm a novice but felt everything was doable with a little courage! There are steep descents and climbs and tight turns through trees but there are some fast open field crossings too. Also a water crossing and some log hop overs. I found it comfortable and a great confidence builder! Check out Youtube vids by Dizzychoonz for the 29th March video to give you an insight.

5) Get your arse down there on the 26th. You will enjoy it. You can do as much or as little as you like. The marshalls are very friendly and will show you around if you get stuck.

Think Shelly's answered it all Thumbs Up.
Reckon your bike should be ok noise-wise.
I've broke me exhaust on the 200 and have to get the 690 serviced, so I'm limited to push-bike muddy stuff until I shell out a wad of cash . Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
