Can bikes be clamped?

Well as the title suggests, my question is, can bikes be clamped? I'm assuming it would have to be a special clamp to fit around the forks or swingarm as I don't think a car clamp would do the job.

Does anyone know?

B*llocks Andyc I didn't think of that! I park in a local spar car park which is for customers only and then go else where (the bank etc) thinking I was safe!

Lets hope they don't figure out the disklock/chain thing! Evil or Very Mad

the thing is with a car clamp you can't remove the wheel once its been clamped, with bikes on the other hand if you have a spare wheel at home you could change it and get home with no fine.

I saw something on Tv the other day about this. Some guy was saying that it was too difficult to clamp them or even more so, to lift them.

Also I didn't know till recently, that it was illegal to clamp cars in Scotland. Mr. Green

nah there is a special bike clamp just for bikes, i remember reading about it somewhere :/ but hell thats another thing, what if some little prankster just decided to go around putting disklocks on peoples bikes :o hell id be annoyed if anyone did that to me > Neutral

Hi

I know bikes can be clamped. Indeed a few years back Bike magazine used a picture of a courier clamped outside a strip club for a caption competition (think the winner was "that's the last time I pick the wife up from work").
