Went to use the phone today, got the "Calls cannot be made on this mobile phone" message, telling me I need to make a payment. This is now the third time I've take a contract out with Carphone Warehouse and have them screw up the direct debit. Fucking incompetent muppets.

Is it just me?

No, they did this with us on our TalkTalk landline where we changed the direct debit to another bank account but they messed it up and cut us off. Evil or Very Mad

Carphone Warehouse are a bunch of cowboys who can't get a thing right, don't know how to set up payments, and just when you think their service can't get any worse they sell your number onto loads of Indian companies (without your persmission) who then call you morning, noon and night trying to sell you stuff you don't want.

Thumbs Down

heh..

we set up with talktalk and everything went ok (ish)apart from them charging us for the free router. Once that was sorted we settled down and got on with using it.

Until we was cut off as we owed money. a bit of head scratching ensued as the bank said they had direct debit instructions recorded for them, and that the account had sufficient funds when they applied.

"odd" we thought, so we went to the bank to investigate further.

thirty seconds after we got to the counter, we figured out what had happened..

Their computer had tried to draw on the debit two days before they set it up Rolling Eyes

Me & the g/f bought new phones from the carphone warehouse a few years back, or so we though. The g/f's came was full of messages that that suggested some had used it first for a texting argument. The last of the txt's said something along the lines of "You dont love me anymore" or something.
carephone warehouse swore blind that the g/f must have left the messages there.
Their next trick was to send us new sim cards via a courier. We weren't in when the courier came so they were taken to the depot. We went to the depot and were told we could only have the letter if we provided photo id. Neither of us have any. We dont have passports, my driving license is an old paper type and the g/f doesn't have a license at all. Carephone warehouse said we would have to wait until they recieved the sims back, then we could pick them up instore.

I made the mistake of going into phones 4 U, before they'd even entertain any questions they wanted all my contact details... Even although I knew what would happen I filled out the form taking great care to tick the box asking NOT to be informed of any offers or have my details shared with any other organsation...

From then on, it was a shitstorm of emails, phone calls, text messages. I half expected to see that annoying american guy hanging off my sitting room window with hand while doing the phones4u thing with the other.

It eventually petered out, but the number of websites I had to go to and unregister was ridiculous. I would only ever deal with the actual operators now.

Thumbs Up

Talk talk are carphone warehouse and now talk talk have a debt collector after me when I owe them nothing as I canceled my contract within 14 days of starting it as it took them ages to start it and they messed up my internet. They admited it was within 14 days but want all that money anyway for months line rental and months in advance apparently. Rolling Eyes and they are shit talkers they get you off the phone and lie to do it.
