What games would you install on a netbook?

Any ideas?

It's not going to be able to handle top of the range games with demanding graphics.

Apparently it can run Half Life and even WoW. I'd install Half Life but i don't think it'd be too fun playing it with the touch pad (i don't have a mouse yet) so FPS are probably out of the question.

The netbook is an Acer Aspire One with a 120 gig HD.

They will but you have to seriously overclock them as there are vids on youtube playing unreal tournament and other games.

On my linux 901 I have defcon everybody dies which is playable if you remove the smooth line shading and water shading.

Its nail bitingly good.

I wouldn't install any games on a netbook.

I'd play games at their full graphic potential on a games console using my massive TV, 200w sound system, comfy chair and a proper games controller.

One game, to rule them all - Solider of Fortune.

I installed it on my netbook and loved it. Best thing is the mulitplayer so you can wifi it up if your hotel has it. It's an FPS but I had a cheapy USB mouse which was £5.

They can also play RPGs like Diablo 1 + 2 and some RTS like Starcraft. The first Max Payne will run on them as well!

Depends which one it is, I saw a video on youtube of someone playing Half Life 2 on one, it seemed to work pretty smoothly at a decent resolution but I think there were sound issues, can't remember. You could probably get away with installing ZSnes and play all the SNES games. I had a proper laptop for doing this stuff and for use as emergency satnav at work but it was just too bulky so I'm using a PSP now instead, videos, good games, emulators everything, perfect for a plane.

On the note of classics, if you're into RTS / simulation games, I'd seriously suggest Dungeon Keeper II.

I wouldn't bother with WoW unless you're going to be plugged into the mains. Playing WoW on my laptop kills the battery after about 40 minutes. Other stuff you may want to try (depending on your gaming preference): Diablo 2, Civilisation (I personally prefer 2, but my sister-in-law prefers 4), Master of Orion 2.

Cool, i'll check some of these out Looks like i might have to buy a small usb mouse for some of them though.
