I think we should have a new forum section at the very top called something like

New to BikeChatForums - Introduce yourself here

I don't know if anyone else agrees? But it would keep all the "hello I'm new" posts away from general chat as there seems to be an ever increasing amount in there, which is very good as lots more members, but annoying to skip through them all.

Yeah, I agree. It would be easier for newbies to get started!

Personally, I would never read it.

I don't particularly care for "Hi!" posts - if someone joins with a tale to tell then that's cool, otherwise it seems more logical just to get stuck in and start replying to stuff. People will ask/find out all about them in time.

I agree with Bendy there. Otherwise it would be a seperate forum for newbie's and if they get used to that they could find it hard or imposing to stray to the full forum.

Looking on box hill forum and thinking about this, it's not such a great idea in a way.

It would split the newbies up a bit yes, and the posts would all be the same "hi I'm new" and like bendy says maybe it's better for newbies to jump straight in.

With the box hill forum I don't bother reading the new forum anymore so I guess it wouldn't be such a great idea here either.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 21 years, 147 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
