Hey folks

I have looked throughout the forums but cannot find an answer to this one. I was out for a spin last weekend on a sunny day, gave the bandit a bit of a blast and brought her home and into the garage where it sat until last night when i went to start it. Symptoms are, ignition on lights work, fuses all checked and ok, cut off and stand switches working correctly, engine turns over, but will not start. Tried this till the battery went dead, its a good battery BTW. Charged up the battery overnight and tried it again this morning, still turning over, but this time i checked for a spark with another sparkplug plugged into the cable, no spark. My question is simple, are the coils gone and would it happen as abruptly as this or am i missing something very simple etc. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and anyone know just how much I should be spending on new coils if this is the case

Thanks

had the same problem after my re-build of the bandit 4, in my case the starter relay cable had torn off somehow and in turn the cdi doesnt know it needs to spark... check the wiring loom for the starter relay... follow it through and check its not snapped/rusty/loose etc
might help, might not Very Happy

Very Happy

I got the bike started after finding a little corrosion at the diode, i replaced the diode, and hey presto started, let it sit ticking over for a few mins and then gave her a few revs to see how it was, no problems sounded ok to me. To make sure it was reliable i started it up 5-6 times until oh no yet again it refused to start with no spark.
Any help re this one is really appreciated, it would appear it doesnt like high revs or vibration which leads me to think its either the loom or the pulse generator at the end of its day. I have replaced the CDI so its not this

Help Please the North West 200 is soon
