PostPosted: 10:42 - 21 Apr 2009    Post subject: Helmet Hair! Reply with quote

I know there is a post somewhere on here but my search isnt working Thumbs Down
I am getting real bad helmet hair. Not just small fly away things - I mean real big kinks in my hair - even just after 20 mins.
My hair is naturally curly so I use GHD's everyday. Which I cant carry around.
Other day it was so awful I had to put my hoody up to hide it.
Has anyone had any luck with helmet liners?
Any thing else i can try?
When I go to meet people I tie it all back and hope for the best but it never works and I end up fiddling with it for half and hour or mor to get it someone normal - help Laughing

Balaclava? or a hair net? , I used to have long long hair like yours , but cut it for my big trip , a hairnet keeps it faily neat yet takes up barely any space in your pocket.

Hairbands annoy me - so I use the Royal mail red bands Rolling Eyes Yes I know there not good but if your carefull there the only things that stay in.
I was thinking a balaclava - but hair net i wouldnt of thought would of been strong enough to keep my hair 'flat' on top.
Will try it tho once im back on the road Thumbs Up

Dunno if my tip will help you Louise but I tend to get a number 4 done on my head with a 3 back and sides regurlarly, that way it's always short enough to not be effected by a helmet. Laughing

And a further note - why do all girls these days that have naturally curly hair seem to insist on straightening it!? Curly hair is so much sexier and shows much more of a personality too(Or maybe that's why you get it straightened! Shocked ). Laughing

My hair is straight as a pin an when I get helmet hair it knots up at the bottom where the hair scrunchie is. I give up on hair styles as the helmet wreaks them. Dont know what to suggest apart from a bandanna and tied back under helmet. I remember I couldn't find a scrunchie ones and ended up eating my hair an having my nose tickled in my helmet.

This problem has existed since time began and I've never heard of a way round it!

Why don't you have a cool haircut that favours/complements the ruffled look ... like these ....

Or for a longer one ...

Thumbs Up

Thing is, you're not going to be straightening your hair from scratch with em... You'll have already done it. Just to re-do the kinked bits. Thumbs Up

Wearing a motorcycle helmet makes you bald? is their any truth in this? Shocked

If I am going out and don't want to look too messy I put on my silk balaclava, only problem is my helmet is a tight fit so I end up with a massive red patch on my forehead, swings and roundabouts! Mr. Green
