I feel my carbs need a...clean.... Now if a certain metal restrictive washer in the inlet rubbers were to somehow go missing would said carbs need balancing?

All hypothetical of course....

Hi

Need is possibly too strong a way of putting it but likely they would benefit from it. Would likely be worth doing anyway unless they were done pretty recently.

All the best

Keith

Doubt I can afford the balancer right now anyways.... Would theoretically run ok without being balanced though right?

Hi

Run, but quite possibly not smoothly or quietly at low revs.

All the best

Keith

Acoustically balance them!

Friend has my morgon balancer and in desperate need to balance them so attempted it by ear.

Tried it on my zxr 7 the other day. I'm a part time music producer so my ear's good for picking up discrecions in sound and properly 'listening' and I remember the change in exhaust note from when I had balanced them previous times.

Throttle repsonse I feel has picked up nicely especially at higher revs/5 gear roll ons from 70ish.

When I get my balancers back soon I'm going to check if I did it ok or wether I'm just an idiot. Probably the latter.

Why?

More likely they need balancing than a clean. Balancing should be done every so often to keep them running sweet anyway. Cleaning is rarely if ever needed.
