Chain Help please

I've got a CBR600F3 and the chain has seen better days so need some help on a replacement.

Took these pics of what looks like a split link thingy?
Does anyone know if you just pop the split link off and then seperate the chain?

Hi

Yes, that clip should just push forward a clip then lift off, allowing you to slide off the side plate on that side and then remove the rest of that link.

Will a replacement be the same as searching the forum brings up horror stories of needing various chain tools etc.

Pretty unlikely the replacement will use a split link like that. Likely to be a rivit link (either soft or hard).

Hi

Bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question. DID and Tsubaki are both fine. Hear off things about some other makes but I have not really had a problem with any of them.

best thing to do is get a good chain and then fit your old split link as the new one will have a rivet.
then take it to your local bike shop and get them to rivet it with the tool if your not sure as its a safety thing.

split links are not a good idea on a 150+mph bike hth
