Reason i ask is i'm going to look at one tonight .
It's a 2001 model , standard blue /white colurs etc..

Seems in good nick from the pics however the mileage is just cracking 32k and the seller wants £2600 - is it worth it ?
I have a max budget of £2800 ish

Only worth asking people who actually own or have ridden one mate.
I ignored all the hearsay and scaremongering people come out with about both TL's, and am finding mine a bit of a peach. Behaves well with some tweaking, and none of that tankslapper bullshit either.

Go on Tlzone and speak to the R owners there.

Guessing your talking about the R model over S.

I sold mine with 30k on the clocks for about £1500,
Was in good condition with barely worn tires.

Look around I'm sure you will find one with a lot of trick bits for 2500

I guess what i really want to know is what kind of mileage you can get out of them before problems arise .
Just seems 30k is pretty high - i just missed one for £1850 with 9k on the clocks - missed it by literally 5 minutes Sad

If you're talking about the TLS. I cant help.
The TLR is an awesome machine though.

The rear shock isnt that bad. Or at least mine isnt anyway, It just makes fully noises.

They have a lairy front end on them though, Love to tank slap under hard acceleration.

But its an all round fucking awesome bike! I love mine. It handles alright, Really planted in the sweepers I find. Pulls like a train, Sounds superb. Looks the part!

Yes I'm biased!

I'll also assume that you are talking about the R as no joker would dare ask that much for an S these days - well D&K would Rolling Eyes Laughing

I had an S back in the day before the Tuono (before the Duke) and inmho the handling seriously sucked ass Shocked I would not go near onw now without hearing the words Maxton & Power-commander! If the low down snatchy fuel injection doesnt get you then the crap handling will do.

To make matters worse my S cracked its frame out of warranty - luckily Suzuki knew that the S was a shitter and gave sorry fitted me a completely new frame free of charge - guilty concience - nah not much! Rolling Eyes

Anyways rant over if its an R or S its over priced for an S period and an R should be way cheaper with all those miles Thumbs Down

Well been to see it and it's okay - bit rust/oxidisation on a few nuts and horn and it needs a new fork seal .

Extras include - undertray , pair of blue flame cans , double bubble & powder coated wheels .
Pretty new front discs and pads aswell.

Think i can get him to knock the price down to maybe £2200 but it's gonna cost me probably £100 to get the seal done ( or the pair as it's useless getting one done )

Told him i'll have a think about it and make him an offer tommorow if i want it - what do y'all think Smile

tl1000r

high milage with cans probally £1500 ish
mid milage with trick bits £1800 upwards (depends on trick bits)
low milage stock £2400+
low milage with cans and normal addons £2400-3k
low milage with every extra you can think of and full service £3k+

i know my dad paid £2750 for his tl 3 years ago with 2800 miles on it.

and it is probaly worth the same as what he paid for it now as its mint and only got 4460 miles on the clock atm genuine

I think they would advise doing just the weaping seal,
Ok the oils will be a tad different but disturbing that seal they might not get it sealed again.
And id love to still have my tlr it does shake its head a lot but as binge said its planted through all the corners and can easily power round corners as quick as a gxsr.
