Big bikes with Red L plates?

Hi Everyone

I'm hoping some one can shed some light on this matter, having not done any of the training yet (CBT this sunday) im not to sure on the rules,
But over the past few weeks i keep seeing a large number of big bikes with Red L plates on them does that mean that there on a restricted licence?
As i always thought the Red L means learner but all the bikers i've seen have been solo riders and thought you couldn't ride a big bike unless you have passed the A2 or DAS ?

they are either under training or there really not big bikes there 125s. There are some big looking bikes out at the moment like the hyosung r which looks like a 600 but is really only a 125.

Do you mean white plates with red L's on?

If it i a large machine with L plates then it is probably a DAS machine, if the rider is on their own then they might be an instructor for a school, or someone who has just taken their test returning to the school.

It should also be noted that some 125s are built to
the physical scale of larger machines. Varedo 125 and GT125 are two that spring to mind

I knew there had to be an explanation! wish me luck for sunday as i could be one of those 125 riders with L plates!

they use cb500s and er500s for DAS and they have L plates
