i own the yiben strider 125cc scooter which is a chinese import, done around 6k miles, but to day on my way to work i came off the slip road to get up to 60mph, around top speed and the power of the bike suddenly dropped, to 30mph.i continue to have the throttle all the way back but nothing.

when on the stand i pull throttle back to max, ticks over to 6k rpm hops about abit then raises to 9k rpm.

so could any 1 help me with whats going on and how much this thing is going to cost me to get fixed. Sad

I would start with giving the carb a good clean and giving the air box/filter a clean out.
Sounds llike it is being starved of fuel at a certain point.

Im not sure about the airbox as theres a problem at tickover also. I would agree with cleaning the carb but that may be tricky if your not sure how.

Simple checks I would make would be checking the airbox for anything obvious, spark plug maybe? Worth giving it a clean or better still replacing it (only a fiver if that).

Sounds like it is getting starved of fuel or air to me.
Question . . When you say hops around . . Is it like bogging down or raising then dropping in the revs?
+1 to checking spark plug.

so could it be dirt from fuel blocking up the emulsion tube,or something blocking air getting to the carb.

You shouldn't hold the throttle open like that on the stand - you'll end up smashing the engine to bits inside when something breaks.
