Is your personality the same on BCF as it is in other Forums/RL?

I bring this up because of this

https://www.times-series.co.uk/news/4313831.Three_arrested_after_officer_on_motorbike_dies_in_road_collision/

It was posted on the TDM forum, I was about to post something like "I wonder if the headlight bracket is ok?" (I need a Replacement on my bike.) But then released it would go down like a lead ballon. On BCF I definately would have posted it. It made me realise I have a different personality on every forum I go on. I think BCF and SpeedFour.org are closest to the real me.

I'm mostly what I'm like in person on BCF because I'm better known here than I am on other forums I frequent, plus, there's more idiots here that need to be told. Wink

I post the same way on any forum. With pretty much the same attitude as if I was talking to someone. Not always 100% true of course, but generally I am the same.

A lot of the other forums I frequent are 'family forums' so I censor myself a little on them but how I am on other forums and in r/l is prety much who I am on here.

I tend to have a bit of a dual personality, a calm, collected husband and dad when at home and out with family/friends. A bit of a mad, angry and pushy git when on my own and on the bike.

I'd like to think I mix these 2 up on BCF depending on what's being posted, but mostly I'll remain calm and not swear all that much. Makes it all the better when I do though! Twisted Evil

To be honest the things that I say will usually depend on the company I'm in, I can say some things to mates who are on a similar wavelength that I would never dare say in front of others..

When I'm online I tend to be a lot more reserved, and also I don't tend to post masses on here or any other website I go on; I tend to find it more interesting reading than writing in general. I'm actually getting bored typing this out Laughing.

I don't post a hell of allot as has been the way recently as I just haven't been in the mood or had time.
My manor in real life is worrying haha,

I like to be polite and well spoken, respectful but on the other hand I don't really think much about restraining my language.
It's quite easy to talk to people on many different levels, as long as people are forthright and honest then I'm not bothered.

I like to let people get on with things but sometimes if I feel I have to then I will confront them.
Generally I think I have almost set moods that determine how I'll come across;
.Usually very quite and keep to myself if I'm thinking allot, concentrating, getting pissed off etc, generally focusing on something.
.If I get excited it can range... Sometimes mess about allot, get's a bit much I have to admit but usually very entertaining.
.I do like to talk about certain things, and it really pleases me when you can engage with someone who isn't a total idiot,
I can usually go on in such a way for a length of time if we're discussing something that I have a passion for.

....ummm yeh so I don't really stray to far from on BCF really, except obviously I'm allot easier to understand in real life... after people adjust to my uncanny manor. Laughing

I am too old and tired to tailor how I come across.

I probably did when I was younger .. when what people thought of me defined how I thought of myself.
But now I dont really give a monkeys.

What you get on the forums is what you get in person (although I have been told I'm skinnier and prettier in real life).

I'm so very different in real life and yet somehow the same. Tend not to try to be funny in front of people I'm not comfortable with as I stutter sometimes. Not really affecting my personality, just means I'll tell a joke then someone else will listen in, I will see them, then go into tard mode.

I'm pretty wysiwyg too, albeit I think I swear more in real life, but I am trying to stop - randomly I don't type it as it doesn't look nice, but tend to just speak first and think later! Rolling Eyes

I come across far more intelligent over the forum then I do in the flesh.

Seriously, everyone has been astounded at work by my liking classic FM, reading high brow books FOR FUN and being able to cook. Guess I just come across as a neanderthal/idiot usually then Laughing

As for forum specific behaviour, I'm far more abusive/brash on here simply because I have tenure Laughing Other forums I tend to be new/only asking a specific question, so trying to inflict a personality is just irritating.

I'm more likely to type without thinking than I am speak without thinking. Plus, as I've said before, I only wear my gum drop buttons for special occasions in real life, not ever day like on here.
