I now have a stubby carbon micron can, I also have the full size can but it is cracked.

The baffle wadding on the stubby is pretty loose and thin compared to the full length can, and it is louder probably due to this.

I'm looking at getting some baffle material to repack this, but just had a few questions.

1) Is there a 'best' baffle material/brand or will any baffle packing do e.g the £8 from M&P?

2) How tight should i wrap the material around the perforated tube? as tight as possible?

3) Will the amount of baffle wadding affect anything other than noise? I'd rather not lose power etc..

Thanks

1)You can use pretty much anything to repack a can, I've heard of loft insulation being used before as it's cheaper and pretty similar, although doesn't last as long apparently.

2) As tight as possible, you really need to pack in as much as possible.

3) Yes, the amount of wadding you put in will affect performance and the amount of heat conducted to the outside of the can. The amount you put in is directly related to the tightness. So again, pack in as much as possible.

As an aside, my Mille's race can had been poorly repacked and it developed a flat spot a 4k, and the Titanium sleeve started to turn a golden colour due to the extra heat being conducted through it.

Thanks. Ordered my material and will repack at the weekend.

At the moment the wadding looks like a wet jumper. Its very thin and screwed up.
