Fallen in love with my ped again :)

So the story goes, I needed some petrol for my ride to college tomorrow, about an hour ago I decided to go and get it while it was still sunny.

I rode about 3 miles to the petrol stations rather than 1 mile to the closer one, to be rewarded by 7p cheaper/litre petrol!

On the way back I decided to go a different, slightly longer route, and just as I was pulling into my village I felt a bit weird, didn't really want to stop, which is strange because other than riding to college and work I haven't really be riding my ped, even in all this sunny weather, couldn't be bothered to think of somewhere to go, and didn't really enjoy going so slowly, especially when I knew there was a 500 in the garage which I can ride in 3 months.

So anyway, I turned right instead of straight on (home) and went another few miles to Droxford, declined once again the short route home and carried on to Meonstoke, just loving the feeling of riding for fun again. Got to a little roundabout and headed off towards home, still another 6ish miles away.

I hadn't been along this road before but I knew it took me home so I stuck with it, keeping sane up the hills with a bit of Feeder in my ears to go with the sunny weather, saw another biker who'd stopped off at the top off one for a fag looking over a valley, absolutely beautiful view, wouldn't have thought you could get that so close to home!

Seemed to be constantly climbing hills on this road, wondering when I could go down one! But my ped soldiered on and pulled me up, hanging on to 30mph for the most part, then downhill and around a few twisty corners at 45 ish and popped out suddenly in Bishops' Watham - wasn't expecting that!

Anyway a few laps of the roundabout and off I went, taking the long way for the last time, down a long 50mph road and then back home.

Got in with the biggest grin on my face! Can't believe I had this much fun on my moped! Just needed to share this, sorry about the amount of words!

I love the feeling of going around on the moped for fun and giggles.

Still can't wait to get on my 600 though.

Small bikes are fun
If i could afford it / had somewhere to keep it i would be very tempted with a 125 2 stroke for tinkering with as well as shorter runs out with no motorway

I think a 2 stroke 125 is where it gets fun, a 50/4 stroke 125 is just a little bit slow for the optimum level of fun!

Bigger bikes are great for speed but there's definitely something about the smaller ones

used to love my ped did hundreds of miles on it a week at the height of my ped riding a was putting in £5 a night haha. took it offroading through fields the lot was great fun really miss it !

It's because going fast on a big bike, the bike isn't even trying to impress, it's just pootling along going *yawn*.

Whereas a 125 is like an excitable dog, eager to play. It might not go fast, but it lets you know it's doing it's best when it's touching the red line screaming away, sounding like it's going to implode.
