Hi All,
Im Kris,
Uhhm, I'm getting my first motorbike in september which is my birthday and it's a Skyteam SM-50,
All of the crap parts on it are going to be upgraded etc etc,

Anyway,
Im from torquay In Devon, im a photographer so hoping to get some nice pikkies of the bike etc etc,
I have watched a few vids on the internet on how to ride a bike for the first time, covering how to use the clutch, brakes, steering, changing gears etc etc,
Anyway, Is anyone else on here live in the torbay area?

Thanks

Kris!!!!

I take it you are 15 at the moment? It isn't a problem we have all been there. Smile

Don't bother upgrading, you are unlikely to have the Skyteam past your 17 birthday.

I'd suggest you have a pretty even chance of spending more time off of the road than on it in the year you have it.

I'd also suggest if money is a factor that you have a look at other previously loved 50cc machines and pick up something likely to be a little more reliable.

Don't get a chinese bike. It's asking for trouble. Shop around for a second hand 50 of a decent make. It's likely to last you longer , spend more time on the road than awaiting repairs, and its resale value wont be far off what you paid for it.

Oh and your 12 month warranty on your chinese junk will likely be not worth the paper its written on. The dealer will probably worm their way out of it with some bullshit excuse or other.

well, whilst i was walking to martial arts, i saw a young man pull up on one, he got off and walked into the building, i said ''excuse me mate, is your bike anygood?'' he replied. yeah its quite good, i said do you ever have any problems with it, he said uhhm, the only few problems ive had is the spark plug, and the bulb's in the front light'' he said why you ask, i said, because my mum has purchased this bike for me for my birthday and he replied, ahh i see, i said, how long u had it mate, he said about 9 months!

So, i dont think its all that bad compared to some chinese bikes!

Thanks

Kris

Don't take this the wrong way and it maybe worth your time doing a search of this forum for chinese bikes and you'll soon see why we all hate them with a vengeance.

To be honest they are a death trap on wheels and i'd hate to think of the outcome should it fall apart on you especially if you were in front of me Evil or Very Mad

If your mum has already bought it then see if she can get a refund straight away. I know someone who did this as the bike was still in the crate.

Good luck
