Hey all, I know a few on here airsoft, so I just thought I'd share my latest experiment.

Sick of military emulation, I decided to shake it up a bit.

I give to you,

The airsoft ninja.

Yup, you definately look like a teenage mutant ninja turtle if that was the look you were aiming for. Wink

Shame that stupid UKARA nonsense ruined casual airsoft.

I've only ever been airsofting once, but I really enjoyed it. I found it really really hard as I haven't done much shooting, and I have to say the BB guns are a lot harder to get on target than the real deal.

I didn't quite get the whole total army get up thing, I noticed those guys were the best there but looking at the cost of all the gear I find it kinda insane. I did find it especially odd when I realised one of the guys even had a fully working night vision goggle set so he would be exactly like the solider he was dressing as, despite the fact it was a sunny day.

Not meaning to start an argument, but it is the worst of comebacks to pick someone up on grammar or spelling. It's pretty unoriginal and shows a lack of an actual argument. It's the sort of thing you get on youtube.

No offence to those who enjoy this occasionally, but I find that of my friends the ones who like paintballing/airsoft/dressing up like rambo and doing stealth rolls through the woods are the ones who were denied entry to the armed forces. One of my friends failed the medical and we went paintballing, he started using hand signals and stuff. As if the sane ones amongst us were supposed to understand?

tl;dr: Fun for a group activity, stupid if you take it seriously.

Really? So you don't think that dipping into a thread and suggesting that someone is 'sad' and derogatorily suggesting that they 'think(ing) there rambo' (sic) merely because they have an interest that doesn't appeal to the responder is 'pretty unoriginal'? If you can show me where Rottweiller provided an 'actual argument' that supports the comments I'd be interested.

That's a lie actually - I wouldn't be interested at all.

almost as sad as people who dress up in race leathers and replica lids, and who have tarty named exhaust systems, hoses, calipers, chains etc and yet only use about 50% of the bikes potential?

And also, I'm dressed as a frickin ninja lol I for one can NOT be accused of taking it too seriously lol.

Only played Airsoft once and semi-enjoyed it.
Keep meaning to go back and do it again.
Prefer paintball myself (I play monthly at a walkon) as I find it far more exciting.

And then there are the ones like me who have been in the British army, the FFL and fought in Bosnia as a volunteer. Then got into, and enjoyed, airsoft.

Fancy that, another stereotype down the shitter.

But did you use hand signals etc to your non-combat obsessed team mates that they didn't understand? There's only so much in a stereotype, and theres never been a stereotype that holds true 100%, apart from your view that all police are nazi pigs, obviously. Rolling Eyes

How does one case send a stereotype 'down the shi*ter' ?

I suspect the number of wanna-be army types, with neither the mental fortitude or physical ability to join the Armed forces, that are rolling around in the woods shouting "cover me, I am going in ... flashbang" far outnumber the rare case of someone like yourself who has served his time and also enjoys doing 'army things' in civvie street.

To me a stereotype is a general opinion based on the majority experience.
ie: Almost every 'pro' paintballer I have ever met is a total cock ... except may 3 or 4 out of the 50 I must have met over the years.
Ergo: Pro Paintballers are all cocks - thats a stereotype and an accurate one.

End of rant ... and I also accept that, for 30 years or so, I may have totally misunderstood the term or usage of 'stereotype'.
Please educate me or admit I am right Smile
