Hi Guys,

Been looking all over the internet for a cheap bike to play on (then pass down to the Mrs) while mine is in bits and came across these "ATM" 250cc 4t imports

The chap says they are full size and brand new selling for £350ish - I know they are pants but really not bad for 350 -

Anyone see or heard of one of these before? I have attached a pic

For £350 you could get a real KTM if you look around Smile.
That's what I paid for an old KTM350 enduro, which I bet was more fun and a fair bit more reliable than the much slower/lower spec 'ATM'.

Ebay listing -

36" seat height

upsidedown forks

wavey discs front and rear

fully adjustable suspension front and rear

full size frame and wheels

it is low but no mini moto - bet it would be impossible to find parts

It will last about a week and then something will break and the dealer will say its based on a KTM and you can easily get parts.

I wouldn't bother....

Incidentally, as far as I know they're about 'full size' for an 85cc big-wheel motocross bike (which are actually fairly big), just with a fair bit more weight and a decent chunk less power.

They're not at all, for the record, based on a KTM ... engine may have been some old jap engine, may even be a souped-up cg125!

For finding a bike, I put the list at the top of this forum together when I was looking for a cheap bike; it's a bit out of date now, but it was just a case of keeping an eye on all the sites for a few weeks before an ok one came up.

If you buy a less shiny old bike of decent quality, for the same money, it will still be worth about the same amount if you sell it a year or two later.

For example, i bought a 1984 yamaha tt250r for £500

Thats a 250cc 4 stroke bike, with decent brakes, suspension etc

if you do buy a chinese shiny new piece of shit, make sure you regularly tighten up the bolts, as they have a habit of working loose and dropping off, according to people on here who have bought them

as mentioned, if anything goes wrong, you may not be able to get parts, so you might then have an unusable bike

whereas an old bike from a common make, will be easy to get parts for

My first bike was a tec bike what a waste of time i payed £400 for it it was less then 1 year old.I change the head twice the chain and sprockets the exhaust brakes almost everything. In total i think i spent around £300 fixing it if i had just waited and looked for and old dtr/ktm or something i would have been way better.Dont buy/waste your time with cheap copys pay a little or a lot more and buy the really bike iv now got a 07 dtr never gone wrong yet and iv had it off road crashed it twice in the field and piked it up and away it went.

And i sold my tec bike for £200 1 year after having it they lose money way to fast.
