Just ride
Never really properly tried at bettering my cornering, use to have banter with a couple of mates on chicken strips but that is about it. I was quite surprised when my peg touched down for the first (and only so far) time.

I ride an 80's cruiser and have no idea what tyres are fitted. Despite this my chicken strips are down to the last couple of millimeters of the tyre. Just ride. The 'secret' is in confidence. My bike might wallow and bounce through the corner but I know it ain't going anywhere on a dry road. The biggest limitation on most bikes is the rider. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

BT45s are a great tyre for cornering on , on my NTV they would happily do Snake pass at 85-90 , they were less happy at over 100 though as on the A675 you'd feel them squirm horribly. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The back definetly isnt a BT45, ive just popped outside to check and its an "ArrowMax GT501" never even heard of it Its a bridgestone tyre though, my mistake on the battlaxe.
I guess that could be the issue, everybody has recommended i get the BT45's apperently its the best tyre for the bike, My dad said go for BT020's i think that would probably be overkill though, ill stick with the 45's since thats what most people say.
Ill get some footage of me on a roundabout or something and get it posted

Its probably also worth noting i feel more confident on left handers, although the strips on my tyres suggest the opposite, also fast corners feel very stable

Road on my daily commute with horrific adverse camber, feels like the bike just wants to tip over.
The secret is indeed confidence, my RS50 runs on a MT75 on the front with a Continental ContiCity on the back, piece of crap. But I can get the knees down without a problem.
Just got to believe the bike will stick, of course, getting the technique right will help first. A square tire won't help much either. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Not managed to get any pics or film yet however im pretty sure ive got it sorted, although i feel like a bit of a pleb hanging off, but im definetly getting more lean, down to the last 2-3mm of strip on the R/H side, the left is still a little on the chubby side, but then theres not that many decent left handers around here whereas there are tons of roundabouts.
Pretty sure i could get my knee down from where i am given the right gear, dont feel much like ripping my textiles
So thanks BCF, ill post a pic or two if i manage to get any

Taking the bike for a blat at the weekend (With Goat-Boy in tow) following the MOT and I kept trying a variety of differing techniques to get the bike to turn better. conciously countersteering tipped the bike in nicely but the front did feel like it was trying to run wide a lot. "head-butting" the mirror and dipping the elbow felt much more accurate and seemed to generate better lean angles.
When I started hanging off more by shifting my arse about though, the bike felt like it was more upright but was flicking into the corner like it was on rails. The front lost all the wishy-washy feeling and it seemed much better.
So, Mix it up and do'nt worry about the strips . I was cornering faster and tighter with the bike more upright..

Why would you ever even remotely need to, unless you're going round a REALLY tight hairpin. |
Well point being the faster you go around a bend the more you have to lean into it to maintain the same radius going through the bend.
If you go through a really tight hairpin very slow, no need to lean far enough to scrape, however, take a wide, flowing corner very fast and you have a need to lean enough to maybe scrape. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Bless.
I know why you need to lean going very fast.
My point, as you've just stated is, when going very slow you don't need to lean. Which brings me back to my point about why you feel the urge to kneedown an asthmatic 50cc that struggles to hit 50mph. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
