My dad had a WR426 on the road and as has been said they are easy to turn back to a YZ, I think it was something like moving the a cam one tooth round (according to him, when he took the rocker cover off there are milled dots on the cams showing where they should line up and one was out so they put it to how it should be).

That went like the clappers.

All the best, Joe

Not 100% sure, but the Yz's have a different gearbox, WR being "wide ratio"

Also things like a side stand are not fitted to a yz, no coolant header tank, electric start etc.

But im loving it, i just have to find a way to stop my damn chain hitting my rims! Sad

oh right ideal!
i don't suppose you could measure the seat height from the ground for me could you?

As for your chain problem, im sure a chain guide fitted to the swingarm would stop it from hitting your rims.

Something like this

Great bike, wise choice

.Ive recently got a wr 250, and i love it ! Great bikes, yamaha are ace !

Ive got a dep fitted to mine and it goes better then my old drz 400, sounds better too, plus as it is more off-road focused then the drz its easier to go faster off-road Smile

Ill post some pics up soon ...

i had a yz426f road registered with all the road gear, compared to my mates wr426f mine had quite a lot more midrange grunt, the highest gears are known for knackering up on them, 5th gear on mine was shagged, would just snatch and grab in 5th every now and again. Tons of power to play with, electric start would have been nice lol gets a bit tiresome trying to kick it off when you've been on them all day and covered in crap
