Hiya everyone Thumbs Up

I am 17 and sat my CBT a fornight ago and I'm now taking a few lessons just to master gears and clutch control. I sat my CBT on a 50cc scooter and am taking my lessons on a Honda CG 125,as I love geared bikes.

I am interested in a Honda NSR 125,having read excellent reviews of them and so I wondered whether an NSR would be a suitable choice?

The only concern I have is whether an NSR would prove to heavy for me. I am a thin and fairly tall female. Any help would be really appreciated!

Hi Kirsty, welcome to the Forums... Thumbs Up

I ran an NSR for around three years, loved it, only ever let me down once and that was due to the coil packing up, they're a good little bike and not to heavy to be honest, easy to work on and are fairly decent on petrol...

I'm only 5' 8 and I had no problem with the weight of it, so if you're taller than that I'd say you'll be fine as I would have thought your centre of balance would be higher so less dramas on that issue...

Buy a CG125 Wink

There is OBVIOUSLY nothing better for learning on Razz

A mate of mine has an NSR and its a pretty decent bike, and would suit you fine in my opinion. So it's pretty much up to you Thumbs Up

And if you drop it, im sure if you wap the lid off and do that thing with the hair someone would stop and help you pic it up Wink

It's only because i have one Wink

Plus it was the cheapest one out of the lot. To be honest i'm not planning on keeping it for too long...

Still, they are all good bikes.

The SR125 is also indestructible, and really, really fucking slow. Done my CBT on it only to buy a 125 cruiser that went faster.

C90 are also indistructible, ask the pizza bloke who dilivers to my house, hes crashed 14 times on it, and still rides round corners like her V Rossi. Mad

Ill vote for the a DT125X, awesome bike!

will cope with everything you throw at it!!

Thanks for your help everyone! What sort of price would you recommend paying? I'm after a 2001 or later model in black and silver (not that I've got it all planned or anything!)

Bike Trader is a reasonable place to start.
Just be careful when buying. Popular bikes with younger people, who dont tend to look after them so it is easy to end up with one that needs a fair bit of work doing on them

If you dont know what to look for yourself then if in doubt ask on here what to look out for. If possible take someone with you who knows what they are looking for.

If in doubt, walk away.
