I want to order a marushin Tiger Helmet off ebay, my current helmet is size Large 59 - 60, its fits well and is comfortable but is not tight and does wobble on certain bumps. I went to hien gericke to try on some helmets to get an idea of sizes and found M 57 - 58 fits well, but then another helmet that i tried was also medium 57 - 58 but was too tight and a pain to put on.
Im not sure what size to go for. Should the helmet be tight on your head, or loose? or bit of both? Once i buy the helmet off ebay i am unable to return it.
Cheers.

General consensus is that once you buy a lid from any place, it's non-refundable because it's a safety item! Unless there's an issue with the product that is, i.e. manufacturing defects.

With regards to sizing, different manufacturers obviously create different shaped shells and would suit individuals differently. Rule of thumb is that if you try on a lid, with the strap tightened, see if you can put your index finger between your forhead and the helmet. You should just about struggle to fit the top bone in. If you can fit more than that, it's too big. Cheek pads should feel tight initially and a bit painful. The liner will bed in over time. If i've got a lid that doesn't feel painful to bed in for the first week or so, then chances are, it's the wrong size!

Well these are just some quick pointers, but I'd rather buy my lid from a shop. That way at least I have a means of a come-back if they sell me a defective lid; distance selling laws should offer you some comeback, but effectively, when it's my head I'm protective, I'd like to think I'm talking to a guy who knows who he's talking about. Obviously a sales person will try to push for a good sale, but they ought to recommend you the right helmet for your price range.

Different helmets have different 'fits'. It may be that no size fits you well for this helmet. I'd strongly advise trying on the exact model you're going to buy.
A few years ago I went for a 'good' but not 'perfect' fit helmet. Crashing left me with a nasty headache which returned any time I did any moderate exercise for around a year after! Pretty sure it was related to my head getting shaken about a bit in the helmet.

Here's a good guide to getting the right fit:

very difficult I find. My KBC was a shot in the dark. Simply measured my head and went for it and ordered from net. Fit perfectly. Recently looked to upgrade. Tried on a Shark i wanted in store and felt great (size smaller than my kbc). So i ordered it off the net for better price. However, although it felt great when trying it on, when i sat with it on for around 20mins to half hour i had seriously painful pressure points on the top of my head and forehead. I sent it back and got the next size up, which arrived, and was too fecking loose! Right chew on and cost me a fortune in return/resending p&p. So im sticking with the KBC for now. All depends on the shape and size of your head so would not reccomend blind buying from the net.

And they didnt offer any help to get the correct size?

Top of the skull should feel snug, checks a bit hampster like.
Best bet you can do is to walk around with the lid on for ten mins to see if the fit still feels snug or if you get a slight headach.

Yeah I made the mistake of going for a medium size and it got loose over time. Its still good with the balaclava (well was in the cold days), but I think i need a better fitting one now.

Just found out that there is a Helmet city just up the road from me which is handy. So i went up there and tried on the helmets, the small marushin was too tight, i couldnt get my finger in at my forehead and could feel it was quite tight, the medium was fairly tight but comfortable. They were charging 89.99 for the helmet where as i can get it on ebay for 59.99, has anyone ordered off ebay, is it a bit risky or perfectly fine? Im just worried about the delivery if it gets knocked about or not.
Cheers.
