Apparantly the term "Swine flu" has been categorised as offensive to Muslims and Jews as "Both Judaism and Islam consider pigs unclean and forbid the eating of pork products."

It should therefore (apparently) be termed "Mexican Flu"

Its been over egged in the press, there will be no snoutbreak. The press' response couldn't be rasher... I reckon those scaremongering reporters should all get the chop, they can go home and sit by their cracklin' fires...

Are Jews and Muslims forbidden from catching Swine Flu?

Will Mexican Flu catch on like a Mexican Wave? sneeze at one end of a line and watch it ripple along.

We won't die. They think it is swine flu mixed with something else in Mexico that is causing people to die there and not anywhere else.

Could be a pandemic but the actual illness isn't that bad.

Due to the outbreak of swine flu, doctors have advised not to go near any fat sweaty pigs. Sorry guys, no more ride outs.

I do like how on the BBC have your say page (always a source of well balanced chit chat) vegetarians are blaming meat eaters for this latest flu...

In retaliation, I'm blaming all vegetarians for any past nettle stings I've had.

Thumbs Up

I had to go and look up what b3ta was, so the answer would have to be a resounding 'no'. Thanks for pointing me in its direction though, does look like an amusing site.

Ah. Glad to have been of service, then. I've been a member of b3ta for some years now, although I haven't posted in ages. It was the 'and I claim my five pounds' bit that made me think of it: it's something of a catchphrase on there.
While you're checking it out, subscribe to the newsletter; it's the tits.
