Does that mean you could also refill at any tyre air machines in garages? Can't be bad!

Of course what they haven't realised is just how much faster the bike would go if filled with hot air from my missus!! Laughing

If you can use the petrol air pumps, you could just carry a footpump withyou everywhere.

Thumbs Up

theyd be better using pnumatic accumulators.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't they just turned the top end of the engine into an actuator.. as far as I'm aware an [pneumatic] actuator is just something that causes movement via compression, right? Therefore the piston is working in the same way as the piston in your everyday linear actuator.

Going from that, wouldn't it make much more sense to use a very small bore?

I could be wrong on all this, it's been a couple of years since I've done anything related to pneumatics

I don't really follow any of this, but couldn't you have one big tank with air in it, that you pump into a little tank, keeping constant pressure in the little one, and when there wasn't enough air left in the big one to keep constant pressure you fill up.

That way you always have consistent power even if you are filling up before you're actually completely out of air?

Alternative energy bikes always sound good until you consider they cost about 3-4 times the cost of a regular bike, which to some people could mean 10-15 years petrol moneys. P.S fusk the environment!
(not necessarily cost to make, but the price consumers have to pay for the privelidge of saving the planet)

Original development is probably pretty pricey, but wasn't that the same in the beginning for petrol enginges?

The cost should even out over time as the technology gets improved and costs are flattened out against sales Thumbs Up

lol that bike is such a shit design

the piston valves and crank im an ic engine create LOADS of friction, not good for an air engine

theyd be better off just designing a purpose built air engine, not some shit comprimise that is slow and has shit range lol

you could make a pedal-powered generator (going by their logic) to power the air compressor.. Laughing pedal further on the spot than the bike will do with the air..

designing a purpose built engine and then making it is going to be a lot more expensive than modifying an old petrol engine
