...after a little blast, I've noticed that my rear shock gets a creaky...I didn't notice it creaking before the ride...is there anything to worry about? Confused

...it only creaks when I sit on it, and not when I press down on the bike with my hands...the spring compresses and rebounds "normally" though

Cheers,

Tin

You might have washed the lubrication out of the linkage bearings, this typically happens if you get a bit carried away washing it Cool

That's kinda funny Korn, 'cos I haven't actually cleaned it properly yet! Confused ...I'm gonna strip it down and clean it...one day...

So I can just consult my Haynes, then?

Cheers,

Tin

Hi

I am with Tin, that the suspension linkage probably needs lubricating

All the best

Cheers Keith, but I think that you meant "I'm with Korn..."...Smile

Anyhoo, just thought that I'd let you know that it doesn't creak when it's "cold", i.e. before a ride...Confused

...but I'll get the WD40 out anyway...Question

Cheers,

Tin

Hi

No, you need to take the rear suspension linkage off the bike and strip it down, and regrease the bearings in it. WD40 might just help a tad, but you need to do the job properly

All the best
