Watch out ebay is FULL of fake knock off brake pads , I got a set and they disintegrated within a few 100 miles.
If you want to try them cheaply try Wemoto they do Goldfren pads which are geniune. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Good guess!
One of my bikes is an '87 XV1000. Twin disc. New pistons and seals, new braided lines, recon MC and it still takes a good tug to slow it down. I have gold frens on at the moment not brilliant but better than the EBC pads that were fitted. Almost feels like the disc or pads are glazed.
I'll try OEM but something tells me that they might not be the same as they were 22 years ago
I think heavier, progressive springs might help but its hard to get them for a decent price. I also think the fact that I have several later bikes means that I tend to compare them with each other and there is no way that a standard 80's bike will outbrake something 20 years newer. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

Slight hijack, has anybody used sbs sintered pads before? I know that Toby used to rave about bendix. I probably wouldn't mind propping for another set of Gold Frens, but at the end of the day, how many people are able to determine their braking performance in terms of their pads for regular riding? Other factors such as brake fluid fade, state of pistons would surely have an effect?
The last pads I used were vesrah and I was quite happy with their stopping power. Very potent once i cleaned out the pistons. ____________________ The Tot 2007 Yamaha R1 4C8 2002 Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer &
