And now feel it looks really shit and gay!
I went out on my pit bike 3 days in a row last week, And got pulled by the police 4 times.
The 4th Time I was pulled up it was by Traffic Police. And I ended up with a £30 fine and a VRN for my Reg plate and a few other bits and pieces.
So I've had to take off the nice little Number plate, And fit a "legal" one on the bike.
Although the one I've fitted is not road legal. It is 1" x 1" too small. A full size road legal bike plate simply will not fit on the bike anywhere.
Here it is at the moment.

Its mounted to the rear subframe, Not the swing arm. So the swinger moves up and is very close to the chain. If I jump down on the pegs hard enough. I think the chain might rub the bottom of the plate. But the odds on the suspension dropping that far are very low.
So until I can come up with something, It'll have to do.
I've been thinking about getting a set up like on the Gilera Ice.
Like this but without the gay mudguard bit, And just the plate mounted to it.

The only reason I'm fixing it up so it looks legal is because the Traffic cop could of quite easily taken me to court for its faults the day he pulled me.
The frame doesn't even have any frame numbers on it! The blank, Yet to be stamped VIN plates are sat in my tool box still.

You're a local guy, Get yourself to Ebbsfleet on Wednesday around 7.30pm. I'll be there on the pit bike.

You jammy sod, I will have one but I refuse to sell my beloved R6 to buy one so I will carry on with my greedy head and save to buy one to sit alongside my current beauty |

Well I know track bike tyres shread/bubble/blister/rip. My TLR tyres have started to do it.
But thats a 130bhp, 200kg bike.
Just a bit strange how the pit bike tyres have ripped on the edges. Looks cool though. |

Looks like you was going round pretty quick in the vids though... |
Jims tyres didn't because he wasn't going that fast.
I was going round faster than the big bikes. There were these two blokes on big bikes. Cant remember what they were. Think one was an R6 or R1.
Anyway, Up the dual carriage way bit, They were proper hooning past me, Real close, Then slamming on the brake for the roundabout, And poodleing around it.
Was getting quite annoying, where they were on the brakes to turn into the right hand part of the roundabout, Was exactly where I was banked right over to the left to cut into the apex.
Every time we got half way round, I was just breezing round the outside of them on the roundabout.
Exiting first, And as soon as they were out of the corner, They were back on the power to wave their cocks around on the straight dual carriage, Just to hold me up again at the other roundabout.
I'm fitting a speedo today, So on Wednesday I'll head over on the pit again, And get a rough idea of roundabout speed.
I'm guessing around the 40mph mark.

as long as your plate has legal font then size of the plate wasnt an issue.. or thats what I was told..
you'll still get fined for it because of its location no matter how much you try and justify it.. I got fined with a completely legal plate which was angled upwards slightly to stop it getting munched by my knobblies when going off road.. didnt wash and I got a £30 fine.. my mate got the same even though his was fitted to a tail light/numberplate unit..
cant win with em mate..
even if you had the numberplate stuck to your back they would do you because its not on the bike ____________________ 04' DT125RE (run-a-bout) // 89' DT125R (rebuilt + supermoto conversion)

Woah, Hold up matey.
My plate is in a perfectly legal position. When I had my last frame, I had a different type of swing arm. And had the plate mounted in the same sort of position for ages. And didnt get a single pull.
And the plate was smaller than the new one.
You must of been doing something wrong to have been pulled and receive a £30 fine for a slightly angled reg plate.
That or it must of been pretty much horizontal.

I see ya on ya pitbike today at ebbsfleet, was gonna say hi but was just determined to get me knee down and my bro was at it aswell.
I was on the red/white CBR and he was on the 57 black r6. I got my knee down after about 15 mins then couldn't do it again. Bro managed to aswell but got his toe down more than anything, might be the big feet ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |

LoL. I was racing with some bloke on a ZX6 (I think it was). I was catching up with him, Ready to overtake on the top roundabout and a meat wagon pulled on just after us.
Cant say I saw you, Were you standing over on the pavement by the railings?
Or just on the left as you pull into the layby?

Lol that bloke on the ZX6 was bad luck, I went with him up to the top roundabout as a police car when the otherside of the carriageway, we both looked at eachother like, nothing to see here is there
Well we would of looked a right pair, I was in full red berik leathers, standing on that lil island most the time or filming, I look about 12 if that helps.
Ah I'll try that next time then, was so annoying getting really close but that's our first time at roundabout surfing . I'll let him know about his toes but they are big ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |
