Reckon this will T-Cut out?

Volvo 1 Kawasaki 0.

Some bird in a people carrier pulled out of a space right in front of me and I grabbed too much front brake to avoid her and the front washed out and me and bike slid into a parked up Volvo. So my fault really. TPFT insurance and losing my 3 years NCD now, winner.

Anyone want to make an offer on a 2002 plate ZX636R as a trackbike project? All cosmetic damage, wheels, forks engine etc all untouched. Razz

ouch, you'll need quite a bit of T-cut for that!

Surely if she did a manoeuvre that forced you to take evasive action then you should be able to claim off her insurance?

I don't know exactly what happened to you but a mate of mine had a similar crash; guy pulled out without looking, mate took evasive action and slid into a parked car. Managed to claim off the guy who pulled out as his manoeuvre was dangerous, the person who's parked car was hit also claimed off the first guy.

I'm sure the highway code says something about not doing anything that forces other road users to change speed or direction? ie check and wait till it's clear before moving!

Not necessarily 100% your fault.
If someone pulls out without looking that's undue care and attention.
Might be worth an insurance claim if you have the people carrier details. If Volvo damaged then the Volvo driver claims off you and you claim off the people carrier driver.

The Volvo claim will affect your premiums, etc anyhow.
If you claim, based on previous examples, you may get a 50/50 payout at least.

Will still damage no claims etc. so you need to do some maths still to work out if money back is worth future payment increases.

HTH Thumbs Up

Whoever pulled out on you created the situation of emergency, so it was at least partially their fault...

I thought you only lose 2 years NCD for making a claim? So you'll still have 1 year left (better than nothing).

Maximum figure for working out no claims is 4 years. Having an accident reduces that figure by 2 years each time unless you protect your NCD in which case you can make 2 claims in a 3 year period without losing any bonus. Cool
