Spotted a little GN250 for sale...[Added some pics]

Going to have a look at it tonight.
Been reading a lot on here lately about people going for little bikes for the fun factor got me thinking.
Anyone owned one?
I want to know if it's worth that price for a start and what sort of top speed would it be getting?
Also what sort of mileage are these capable of?
I should mention that i'm a lardy 15 and half stone and 5ft10 aswell .
Will i fit on the thing?

What it comes down to is that since having bigger bikes,riding just seems to be so boring now.I remember back when i had my little dt125 it was awesome and i'm trying to get that excitement back.

If i buy this i'll just keep the vfr for camping trips e.t.c. and just do the whole RAT thing(bbq paint e.t.c. ) with the GN.

So bcf what do you reckon?

I have had a lot more fun on small capacity bikes than i have on the bigger bikes.When i say fun bike i mean something to chuck around and rag the shit out of without doing the silly speeds i would be on the vfr.

My mate had one, I took it for its MOT and came back the long way - it was a hoot. Scrapes the pegs easily, seemed happy sitting on the dual carriageway at 65mph with my lardy 18 stone* on it, comfy riding position. If I had the spare cash and garage space, I would have had it when he sold it.

Used Bike Guide says 20BHP, 80MPH, 70MPG. Sounds/felt about right.

bought one for the girlfriend,found the front end a bit soft,it dived on braking,thicker oil and preloading springs helps ,the rear shocks were to my mind also soft so i replaced with koni dial a rides,made it more stable.corrosion was a problem so i wd40ed the rusty bits on the frame and autosol on the chrome.had two speedo cables snap and one tacho,cable from gs125 fits.the engine was willing but change oil every 2k.back tyre was a funny size so check availability.it was bought for £1200 on an n plate in 2001 with 1400 genuine miles on it,it was immaculate as had not been ridden much but a few winter miles soon aged it.personally i couldn't get on with the riding position but she loved it,it was called 'HAWK'.overall it was a good bike,as said 70mpg 80+mph but it was,like a lot of singles,hard on its chain and sprockets.

My 1st return to biking ride....
Only had 1700 on the clock, still on original tyres... Soon junked as they were cracked to hell.
Bought by a fella for his Mrs who rode it a bit then the only trips it got was for its MOT....

Ok ish as they go. Not really liking 65+, which makes for hard work in fast flowing traffic.
Easy to get the front up....

Std Suzuki cheese build.

They do not look like std bars on it.
At that price, unless there is something serious wrong that is going to cost a lot to get through MOT a bargain for round town fun.

As you would expect it looks a little rough.
The frame has been painted black (with paint brush by the looks of it) and the chrome has a little bit of rust on it.
Everything else looks good (35,000 miles) and i see no reason why it wouldn't pass it's mot.

Starts first time aswell which is nice.
I'm going to look a bit daft riding it as it's pretty small but i can live with that.
Of course,i have a welder so see what happens

The leak is just the condensation from the exhaust luckily( which also looks quite new_
No oil leaks yet.
The engine is really clean,almost too clean to be painted with black high temp paint so i might just get the autosol out and polish it,along with the forks which also look brand new.
Rims also look as new but the spokes could do with some work.
The only real bad parts is the swing-arm has been hand painted with a brush so it looks a little rough,but that's no big deal.
I could rub it down and do it properly but for what i need it for it's fine.

Fixed a dodgy front brake light switch now so it's all done for it's mot.


I can hear what sounds like big end knocking slightly,but that's not the end of the world either.It could also just be the way they are so i'm not bothered.

That looks seriously clean for the price. Think you got rather a good deal there!

Please don't matt black it, you'll ruin a perfectly good bike.
