Weird Undercover Cop Car

Hello everyone,

Just drove a mate home and saw some guy in a chavved up Focus getting pulled over.

The weird thing is the car that did him. It was a dark blue van, something like a VW transporter

with blue lights in the grill and an undercover copper driving.

It was in York so if you're local might wanna keep an eye out.

Anyone seen vans like these used for traffic cars?

Seen one of those today, stickered up as a standard jam sandwich though. Also noticed a grey Skoda Estate, mainly down to the fact he pulled out of the station behind me Razz

Same van's just waiting at a junction with a handheld radar gun now. Not so bad when you know what to look out for, get's hardeer when they hang out in such non-descript stuff like this!

I read somewhere that you don't have to stop for an unmarked officer (i mean, if the officer isn't wearing a uniform). Or if you do stop, you have the right to get back in your vehicle and drive off.

Weirdest one I've seen pictures of is a blue transit, made to look like a crappy, shoddily looked after work van complete with a 'GB' sticker in the back window.

Has a speed trap in the back window though, waaay too sneaky.

There was a VW Transporter I overtook today which had adverts for a window cleaning service on it, and a uniform copper behind the wheel!

Didn't get to find out if it was just a copper doing a favour or the sneakiest undercover van ever, I overtook it at 35mph following a tractor.

I saw a Van 2 days ago that looked like it had two coppers in.

It was a small white transit.
I'm sure they were coppers cos they were both wearing the yellow/green waistcoat style jackets. I could have been wrong though.

We have a Skoda octavia VRS in black round here (Stockton - On - Tees). It looks the part, privacy glass, body kit and massive wheels.

The BTP around Cardiff have an older white Nissan 4x4... I wondered why it was parked in the BTP spaces behind the station and then noticed I could just make out conceal blue lights hiding behind the grill.

Spotted a silver Renault Traffic van around Elephant & Castle, hammering it on the blues a week or two ago.

Coppers around mansfield like to use skoda's, fiestas and focus'.

That being said, I was very angry to see a van parked almost in a bush off the road with a camera whacked in it.

Looks like it's that time of year where the police want you to look more at your speedo than at the heavily crowded road filled with school children Thumbs Up

I think they will use just about any cars. I had two officers behind me today in what looked like a moderately suped up Golf GTI. I've also often seen them in ford focuses. Its a real pain im always checking my mirrors in cheer paranoia now to see if there are officers behind me encase i open it up a bit.
