Would they serve the same useful purpose on a motorbike? Anyone got one? Karma

Heres a tip.

Apparently if your bike is datatagged then it's up to 5 times less likely to get stolen.

The deterrent is the stickers.

Buy the stickers off ebay if you can't afford the datatag kit so you'll still have the deterrent without paying the £60.

Heya, I've got an immobilise tag in my push bike, and it works by having the small black piece of plastic with the chip dropped inside the frame of the bike. Looked to me like the base of the plastic had the chip, so i would imagine you'd be able to cut the legs off of it. This should make it easier for you to hide the chip somewhere on your bike.

The website you register the chip with seems more suited to deal with registering the tags for a push bike and for other electrical goods (think another product a similar to Smart water).

But to be fair, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to use an immobilise tag.

They are mostly the same thing. We use them at work on a vac tube system that carries samples around. Its the same as the ones they use for cash in supermarkets.

We had problems with the carriers getting stuck in the tubes halfway through a 100m run, so someone came up with the idea of putting the datatags on the carriers so we could pinpoint them between readers.

We even have the gun for checking them and bags and bags of the little tags lying around Thumbs Up

As for the security, the sticker is as good as anything. For me personally, being fully comp and all that I really dont want to get my bike back if its stolen and stripped Confused
