I have my court case tomorow, excessive speed 68 in a 40 (6 lane d/c).

Im expecting 6 points at least and am pleading guilty in person,

What mitigating circumstances would you give in my position?

Turn up in a suit, apologise profusely, don't offer any half-arsed 'mitigating circumstances' and sound sincere.

Offering some obviously bullshit excuse is probably a very good way to get a more severe punishment.

I got banned for 68 in a 40 mate and I was sincere as it gets lol.
Was a dual carriage way, nice summers day just got carried away in car. Turned up at court suited and booted just apologised, made sure they knew I was in the wrong, no excuse whatsoever for my behaviour etc. One month ban, no points and small fine.

I have an allergy to nuts and some fool at my work, had just given me a cake which contained nuts.

I was rushing home to take my epi-pen, had I not done so I could have died.

Prepare to get charged with perverting the course of justice if caught.

How long were you followed? If you had been stopped straight away what would the fine be and why were you not stopped straight away?

Mate was pulled for doing over a tonne. Police had followed him for about 15 miles before stopping him. was going to get a ban and fined. when the courts worked out time and distance he was doing average of 84 mph. got points and a large fine but no ban. police got a bollocking for not stopping him sooner.

"Sir, I do not believe that I was driving that fast as mentioned by the Officer!".

Now this is where you may get them if they are unable to provide proof that speed gun was calibrated for the day, if I am correct they must be calibrated for use each day to make sure they stay accurate within a margin of error as noted by the manufacturer's guidelines for use. If it wasn't calibrated then that gun's reading maybe not used as evidence as it could be giving a false reading.

Or,

"I had just recently changed lanes to overtake, but I was just about to return to the previous lane I was in, but sorry I did not realise that I had accelerated by such a degree."

Say you're involved covertly against the War on Terror. You wish you could explain the very good reasons why you had to go so fast, but you have to consider "National Security issues".

The ACPO (association of chief police officers) guidelines state that 66 in a 40 is 3 points by the side of the road, 68 catches you a case,

Case is in two hours, gonna ride there in me suit Smile,

I would be proper fucked if they banned me...

Good luck, hope they go easy on you.

For the record I once went smart and did the kissing arse ceremony that I was told would help. Like fuck it did; I ended up with almost maximum fine and points. Druggie scumbags before me were let off nicking stuff... the mind boggles.

If I was in your boots I'd find out what the judges names are and google them, see if you can dig up any dirt etc. Then I'd go in and tell them to prove my speed etc. I would refuse to plead guilty, that's for sure...

Oh and definately be conservative with declaring your earnings. Remember, you earn £30 a week right?
