Now then all. I've not been on here in a looooong time. I've spent a couple of years on four wheels but i'm returning to two wheels full time as of now.

I'm using my girlfriends Fzr600 for a 70 mile round trip commute to work while i decide what bike to get myself.

Ideally i'd like something thats comfy, has a good tank range, is fairly good on fuel, has decent wind protection and a decent amount of power. My budget is up to £2000. I test rode a 97 Blackbird at the weekend and thought it would be ideal but they are a tad over my budget at the moment.

I used to have a ZX10R but didin't get on with it. It seems i like a bike that weighs 200kg+ as i much preferred the ZX7R i had before it.

So what bike do you think would meet the above criteria?

CBR 600

Good all rounder supposedly. Never owned one myself but if you want something reliable, quickish and generally good then that's what I have heard and read.

Thanks for replying. I have considered a CBR6 because as you say its a great all rounder.

I'd actually ruled out any of the 600's due to the fact they have to be revved to get them going and therefore use more fuel.

I think i'll stick to my original plan and get a Blackbird

Would something like a ZZR1100 not do all that or does it have to be a sports bike rather than a tourer?

You can get blakcbirds for under 2K.

Early Blades are fairly comfortable Scouse but not comfortable enough for what i want i reckon.

I'm looking for an all rounder really flip and the Blackbird seems to be the cheaper super tourer option and capable of scratching as well as touring. I'm struggling to find one under 2k though Confused

Thanks for the replies guys Thumbs Up

I'd heard blackbirds were cheap now but looking at ebay they're still going for decent money. (excuse the pun Rolling Eyes ).

Example ZZR?
