How do ya mean oversize, and why???

Going up to an 18 incher will spoil the looks and bugger your tyre choice and going wider will bugger the handling. For a wider tyre it should still fiton the existing rim. Will still bugger handling tho. Bigger wheel also means more unsprung weight which will also bugger handling.

I assume you mean a wider tyre..... have a look at 125GP bikes, they produce loads more power than a NSR but have quite a lot skinnier tyres.
As ^they^ said a bigger tyre will give you worse handling.

I had a bigger rear on myne it made the bike look like a 400 too ppl that dont know bikes.

it does give you a higher top end but not enough speed in 6th to get you there you need a bloody hill to top out

Because it's got a bigger circumfrence one turn of the wheel will take you further

Yeah good point however the increased surface area of the tyre will cause more friction that will slow the bike down. The lack of enough top end power and increased area of contact between the tyre and road surface will make any increase in speed due to the slightly larger circumference of the tyre unoticeable.

That is all

IMHO I wouldn't have thought the friction would be a significant factor... the lack of power on a 125 would though.
