Ok to start with im no computer wizz. Im currently trying to download a Powercommander program from the dynojet website.

When I download the program, I get the icon on my desktop as its downloading but as soon as its done it dissapears.
I had this problem ages ago with IE so I used firefox. This worked fine for a while but has now stopped.

Any advice/info much appreciated.

Tom

In firefox, where is your download folder set to? Might be set somewhere else and using desktop as a temporary storage as it downloads.

A quick google brings up this

Does this happen now from any where you download?

Try this option when about to download;

Right-click on the download option on that website, choose 'Save Target As' and select where you to save it, as it may have been changed due to an Add-On to your browser and therefore you may have to reset your browser to default.

The other possibility is that your anti-virus program is wrongly thinking it's a virus after being downloaded, and therefore it puts it into it's quarantine folder for deletion or has been automatically deleted by it.

Or

you may possibly have a malware/virus on your system

So try this program if possible;

It's really good at finding & deleting malware/viruses from your system and it's completely free with the one exception that you don't get automatic updates (you have to buy the program to activate automatic updates), as you have to do that manually instead which is no hassle and so once downloaded or if you get someone to get it for you then once up & running then click update before scanning your system.

Anti-Malwarebytes program;
