Knee down attempts

Went out the other day to attempt some kneedowns, only managed it once but couldn't get it done.

Bro had a few attempts too. Any pointers on what I should be doing more?

Carry more speed, drift out wide on 1 part of the roundabout and cut back in.

Hang your top half off the bike more, your head should be about in line with your mirror.

Cheers Steve I'll give it a go, alot to think about when unsure on it, so I want to learn it and get it spot on.

Morgan I actually prefer left handers but going round a roundabout with my left knee down might not be wise

Try it on a long sweeping corner, I find cranking it over alot easier at a little bit more speed.

Your not carrying enough speed and the bike is too upright, counter steer (turn the bars left) and lean it over when your comfy with speed an angle etc, keep your wrist steady and hang off like you are doing.
Your downfall is lean and speed.

To be honest (from what I can make out in the vid) it all looks Ok ... you just need to go faster ....

Also put 2-3 sliders on your right KNEE to take up some of the slack. Once you have made that first slide it'll all make sense and you can start removing sliders ... with 3 sliders on you can get you KD NOW!!

What tyres are you running?

Oh and have a chat with your mates on the ZX and GSXR - they are doing it completely wrong and only going to crash like that!!

Cheers blue, speed seems to be the thing. I haven't got spare sliders or the money to buy any atm

Think my tyres ain't the best, might be bt014's. Don't know the people on the ZX or GSXR

in my expeiriance bt014's have always been great tyres to ride on..


to get my knee down i just hand off the bike and counter steer (only slightly) it pushes the bike further over and helps my knee hit the deck...was a knee down virgin till 3 months ago, now i just do it to show off lol....hopefully the rozzers won't catch me at it

aye all the best tho, and take your time learning, don't total ya bike, spesh on a roundabout lol, my mate did once, and ended up him in the middle grass verge and his bike being hit by a land rover tdv6 wipeout!

I've never known an occasion on the road where it's necessary.

I really cant seem to KD but i seem to corner fairly quickly i have 2mm chicken strips but my knee still seems to be 70ft from being even slightly near the road

Bt014's are fine, I was playing on roundabouts with a bt014 on the back which had done 20 miles and a fucked rennsport on the front, no slides ect anything.

Danzio I plan on taking it easy, not gonna attempt it on the Duc for a while, barely had it a month.

Tbh the bt014's have been fine for me and have had no problems.

I'll get some vids up of my bro, he goes round in 4th gear, I go round in 2nd, his tyre has started to blister whereas mine has still got like 1-2cm of slimey stuff.

He seems to get really low and his toe touching, he says his foot is on the peg too, just got a wagon toe

Only been able to do it myself recently. I found a bit quicker, in 3rd so its smooth. Hang off like a monkey, forearm resting on the tank, arse good and proper off. upper body dipped down head next to mirror.
