Tell me how i made the Divvy squeal?

Silly question, but we should know by now i'm full of them.

Last night i belted off down the dual carriageway, reached a 'little' over 70 and began to break quite heavily for a roundabout. under braking i managed to have the bike created a noise that a plane would make on landing, a squeal as if a plane had just made tarmac-rubber contact.

Now as far as im aware neither wheel was off the floor so did i lock the wheel or what? I didnt notice any handling woes at all.

It must have locked briefly, it can happen if you change down forcefully too. V Twins are best at that.
I'd call the noise you mean a chirp rather than squeal maybe.

yeah i guess the 'chirp' describes it nicely. i dont THINK i'd shifted down at that point but im not sure i was taking much notice of that to be honest Embarassed

if you don't already, try blipping the throttle as you change down to stop the rear wheel locking.

Could of locked the rear with the rear brake.

Could of done it on the downshift.

Fuck year slipper clutch.

Was it a random sort of whirring noise coming from the front end?

Mine used to do that all the time, never worked out why it did it.

Neah it was exactly the same noise a plane makes as it touches down on a runway.

Im worst for it when im shifting from second to first on a certain corner in the town i live in.

It doesnt happen anywhere else, just that corner.

It does sound pretty cool though Wink

But as David_m213 says, blipping the throttle does help stop it from locking up.

fresh-ish pads. it was certainly rubber squeel not metal as bare pads would make.
