for the 3rd time in 2 years.

ive got anything from 4-8 weeks off because of ANOTHER broken foot, although this time nowhere near as severe as last time.

was in college when we decided to go for a low budget lunch at aldi, but didnt get that far...
as i got in the car, the driver thought it hilarious to pull forwards a bit, where his back wheel hit my heel from behind.

this bent my foot almost in half, and i heard the usual SNAP that makes you think ''fucks sake, not again''.

because it wasnt as bad as the last one, and there was very little floppyness, i figured it was just a bad sprain and would walk it off with a fuckoff spaz limp.

so from 12:00 until 6:15pm i carried on as usual in college, and then decided to make my way to hospital as my foot looked like a cows face.

so i park my bike on the pavement outside the A+E doors, and hobble in to reception where im first seen by the worlds most useless nurses.

''does this hurt?'' etc.

it did. so they pressed harder. bastards.

to make it worse, i asked for some crutches, because id had enough of walking around at 2mph in agony...

''well you've already been walking around on it, that means its definatly not broken''

cheers for that expert diagnosis...

i then asked them if someone could move my bike if its in the way, because i wasnt up to it.

got the same answer. ''you got it here, so take it to the carpark and walk back''

''can i have crutches so i can walk back?''

''how can you take them on the bike?''

''clearly you dont know me''

needless to say, the bike stayed there because if theyre not going to help me, then i wont help them.

so yeah, X-rayed by a really eccentric guy who recognised me from my last several visits, and sent on my merry way where a really camp guy told me it was broken.

his words were ''you either have no pain thresh hold, or are just plain stupid''.

so i was given crutches and a groovy shoe, then told to get an appointment card at reception.

the woman had to double check my diagnosis with the doctor, because she didnt beleive it was true seeing as i walked in.

so yeah. thats it.

minimum of 4 weeks on full pay...

the mito will be sorted pretty soon as i wont be spending much Twisted Evil

so in the first 2 years of my engineering apprenticeship ive had the following:

> 8 weeks off for bone graft and screw in scaphoid
> 8 weeks off for obliterated foot
> at least 4 weeks off for snapped foot.

I don't want to get safety nazi on you, but after the first time you broke your foot didn't you feel more compelled to wear boots? I can't ride in anything less than my tech 3's in fear of that happening. Laughing

im not sure if your joking or not.
i wasnt on a bike. hence ''random banter'' Cool

@ chriss
thats what my mummy lawyer said straight away, not ''are you ok'' it was ''i can sue them for you''

however, it was a friend driving, so i dont really plan on going down that road.

Well, you can hold it over him for a while: free pints, that sort of thing. I wouldn't bother suing, because that's unnecessarily American.
I wonder if your engineering course would extend into bionics and cybernetics? It sounds like you could use yourself as a testbed, at this rate...

If you loose time off work and your employer has to pay out sick money they may well sue your mate to get the cost back. Stupidity has its price.

What an idiot.

Seriously, this is the epitome of the <20yo moronism that is RUINING this once great country.

Further evidence that there should be some sort of civility test for under 20's before they are allowed near any vehicle. Some people drive cars when they've only real the mental age to be playing with toy tractors, and that's a fact.

suing him would just claim off his insurance

might be worth doing, you might even want to give him a cut to compensate him for possible increase in insurance premiums

I'd say the car driver who dicked around was a bit more of a cunt.

I'm pretty sure none of my mates would run over my foot for a laugh.

You're not suing him, just his insurance.

He can always use the "My foot slipped off the clutch" line.
