Just moments ago I sold my rs 125 for 1500 euros. I have the money, and we've both got copies of the contract we've signed.
The guy expected me to give him my shoei xr 1000 in the price, I said no, but I had to lend it to him anyway cause he didn't have a helmet and came with his girlfriend in the car.
I have an extra back wheel which I'll give to him.
Here's the deal: He just called me saying the rpms went really high at the lights (something I haven't known how to fix) and sounded annoyed.
He wants me to send photocopies of my dad's ID so he can do the name change by himself, but I think if I do that he'll just keep my 400 euro helmet and fuck off.
So what I was thinking is tell him on monday we meet up to do the name change, I'll give him the wheel and ID in person and he gives me the helmet back, but what if during the weekend he starts saying he wants the money back and doesn't want the bike?
If I tell him tough luck he still has my helmet...
I'm getting pretty paranoid this could turn ugly.
Worst case scenario I send him the ID and let him keep my helmet (which was given to me by a dodgy friend so I didn't pay for it and have a Raid II anyway) and there we go, but I'm not too happy with that either... Advice please

1st - what the flying fuck did you think you were doing lending him your lid? I mean, if I went to pick up a bike without the money, would you lend me that too? Or how about if I went out looking to cop off with some shexy young chick, would you offer up your missus? Honestly, no. You failed right there.
2nd - the bike had a fault you were aware of, I trust you told him that before he handed over the cash? If not, prepare for some backchat, and at worst, offer to give him his money back.
3rd - ID for name change? Isn't it the 'old' owner's responsibility? If so, then just get the name changed and he can deal with any delays his own merry way.
Thumbs Up

He gave me the money. The bike is sold. I wouldn't have let him ride away otherwise.
I was stupid not to tell him about the revving, but he did try the bike beforehand so anything unusual he should have spotted there and then. (I'm being a twat but I did go down from 1900 to 1500!!!)
The ID: The bike is in my dad's name, so when you do the name change he needs the ID data for it to go through as well as a photocopy of the original. It's the way things are done here... And he can do it himself the old owner doesn't need to be present. That way I can buy a bike in Madrid and do the paperwork myself in Barcelona.
I think I'm just gonna see how things go, and if he's unhappy I'll tell him to be fair with all the haggling you did you can get the carb set up and still have a few hundred left. And if he wants the helmet he can pay for it. I know where he lives and he knows where I live so this has to get sorted some how.
I've been trying to sell the bike for over a year now...I wasn't gonna pass up on the first offer I got in that time, cash in hand on the day.

I called the guy a couple of hours ago and told him about meeting up. He seemed fine and said he'd had the choke on and after that the revs were fine. We'll meet up monday morning and exchange the helmet and wheel and finish the deal. Hopefully I'll be buying a ZX7R next week Very Happy
