Assuming a 'well' lubed and looked after chain, and no brake problems or say calipers not attatched.
How many times around would you expect the rear wheel to spin?
With a moderate push my front spins very nicely (seeing as I have taken the siezed caliper off) but the back will only get maybe two revolutions.

I doubt mine would go round once.

Remember, there is a fair amount of resistance from the gearbox too.

two revolutions sounds alright imo.

It might be worthwhile checking the rear wheel bearings and greasing them up along with the spindle bolt.

I have a question in a similar vein, my rear wheel used to be exactly the same about 2 revolutions but I got a new chain & sprocket kit fitted a few weeks ago and now the wheel spins a good 10 - 15 times with a moderate push!

I thought it was my old chain was dirty enough to slow the wheel down but if 2 revolutions is right then howcome mine's such a pushover now? Shocked

What bike is it?

If it is a small capacity bike with a drum brake, they will spin a lot more (smaller chain, smaller gearbox, no resistance from brake pads).

would single sided swingarm make a difference? iv'e fitted new calipers and brake pads so its definatly not binding.

It's a Honda CG so you're right there. I just thought it was odd that a chain & sprocket kit could make such a dramatic difference Confused

Maybe it was my half-arsed chain cleaning routine after all
